I was listening to the song by, 'Belief' by John Mayer. These lines made me think about my own belief:
"We're never gonna win the worldIs it only belief we should be doing? Should we fully rely on just 'believing'?
We're never gonna stop the war
We're never gonna beat this
If belief is what we're fighting for"
I feel that being able to act upon our beliefs and put them into practise is fundamental to any belief. It's okay to believe in something but to act upon it is completely different. For example:
Jimmy believes he should always take the dog for a walk every day. He tells you this. You observe him closely for a week. He does it every other day. He is therefore, not practising what he believes. Not fully, anyway. So, do we question what we believe in very often? Do we act upon them? I'm not saying for one minute that I do. No-one, I feel, is perfect.
We can fall into the trap of believing in something and hoping that will be all right by just this one sense of believing. Acting upon this belief is the next step! Does this make it more 'believable' for others?
These are just a few thoughts I had on 'Belief' which I am sure you can probably see what area I'm 'directing' this towards. As I said, no one is perfect!
Take a listen to John Mayer's amazing song - Belief
Any thoughts or comments would be appreciated!
Thanks and God Bless
